This intricate mango leaf shaped incense holder with diya is made with love by our tribal artisans from the interiors of Odisha. The incense holder and diya tell a saga of rich cultural heritage and legacy of primitive metal craft.

The artifacts represent an ancient Indian tribal brass craft known as Dhokra which dates back to pre-historic times of the Harrappa and Mohenjodaro Civilizations. Dhokra is made with non–ferrous metal casting using the lost-wax casting technique with an alloy of nickel, brass and zinc. Using the same technique of the unique 13 stage process of Dhokra / Bell metal making the tribal families of Odisha cast the figures of gods and goddesses, lamps, boxes, ornaments and other utility objects.
