The Warli culture is centered around the concept of Mother Nature and elements of nature are often focal points depicted in Warli painting. Warli painting is a style of tribal art mostly created by the tribal people from the North Sahyadri Range in India. Warli designs depict many scenes like a typical day in the village, ceremonial dancing, wedding rituals, so on and so forth. The origin of this art form is said to go as far as the 10th century AD. It not only describes life of the Warli tribe but is also one of the few folk art forms that have garnered international reputation. Historically, the Warli tribe used this art to record their life and customs for future generations.
