In 2023, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the French President Emmanuel Macron commemorated the 25th anniversary of the ‘Strategic partnership’ status between the two countries by adopting a roadmap called "Horizon 2047", a vision statement for the next 25 years. The roadmap has three pillars: partnership for security and sovereignty, partnership for the planet, and partnership for the people.
