Celebrate USA & India! Your Adopted Country and the Country of your Origin/Birth!!

India is the largest democracy in the world, whereas the United States of America is the oldest democracy. India is also known as the Mother of Democracy, while Dr. Ambedkar studied at Columbia University and the American Democratic system to later architect India's Constitution!

The relationship between the United States and India is one of the most strategic and consequential of the 21st century with their partnerships through G20, QUAD and the UN! The United States supports India's emergence as a leading global power and a vital partner in promoting a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.

The historical links between the United States and India can be traced to the year 1492, the year when Christopher Columbus discovered America in the course of his search for a new route to India. But formal and official relations began after India gained independence.

The relationships between India in the days of the British Raj and the United States were thick. Swami Vivekananda promoted Yoga and Vedanta in the United States at the World's Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893. Mark Twain visited India in 1896 and described it in his travelogue Following the Equator concluding that India was the only foreign land he dreamed about or longed to see again. Regarding India, Americans learned more from English writer Rudyard Kipling. Mahatma Gandhi had an important influence on the philosophy of non-violence promoted by American Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King in the 1950s.
