Chola style 8.5 inch bronze Saraswati Goddess Idol meditating with the Vedas in her hand.

The Saraswati Goddess Idol is part of a series done by our artists depicting the divine trinity of Hinduism; Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma meditating with their wives, Parvati, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Saraswati is captured in this sculpture in silent meditation upon a double lotus base. Saraswati's front two hands are clasped in front of her in the dhayana mudra or meditation hand position. In her other two hands she holds a string of malas and a copy of the Vedas. She is calm and composed with a slight smile on her lips. She is the consort of the Hindu God of creation Lord Brahma.

This Saraswati Goddess Idol is a hand made bronze sculpture cast by the artists of South India using the lost wax process, a skill passed on for generations since the Chola period.
