In this 500 piece folk art puzzle painting portrays Ahalya, a woman of immeasurable beauty and character, who was turned into a stone, on being cursed by her husband, sage Gautama. Several years later, Rama and Lakshmana along with sage Vishwamitra, visited the hermitage of sage Gautama, while on their way to Mithlapuri. Rama touched the stone and the curse on Ahalya is reversed. In this pictorial representation, Ahalya seeks blessing from Rama after being freed from her curse. Guru Vishwamitra and Lakshmana are standing alongside Rama.

Madhubani, which by one account means Forest of Honey, is a region in Mithila region of Nepal and the northern part (Madhubani district) of Bihar.
