Design Inspiration

This product is a tribute to Mumbai - Film City. As an art center, Mumbai hosts the Bollywood industry as well as the Marathi cinema industry. The Mumbai Film City or Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari at Goregaon in Mumbai, established in 1977 - one of the largest studio complexes in India. It has virtually every facility that a film-maker needs, which makes it the ultimate destination for every discerning producer.

On persuasion of visionary people like Late Shri V Shantaram, late Shri B R Chopra and veteran actor Shri Dilip Kumar, Maharashtra Film, Stage & Cultural Development Corporation Ltd. alias Filmcity was established on 26 September 1977 by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra. It was renamed as Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari in the year 2001 to commemorate the founder of Indian film Industry Dadasaheb Phalke. The greatest advantage of Film City is its location and vast area covering more than 520 acres of land in suburbs of Mumbai. The Film city has approximately 42 Outdoor Shooting Locations. Maharashtra Film, Stage & Cultural Development Corporation (MFSCDC) envisions transforming the current facility into an international standard integrated film-making destination.
