Tejas | India’s Multirole Supersonic Fighter | DIY Kit
The Tejas is India's 4.5-generation, multirole supersonic fighter, developed by Aeronautical Development Authority and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. Following its maiden flight in 2001, it was inducted into the Indian Air Force in 2015.
It is the smallest and lightest aircraft globally, in its class, it features a 45% carbon-fiber composite airframe, a compound delta-wing, and a fly-by-wire system for extreme agility. Powered by a GE F404 engine, it achieves Mach 1.8, a 16,000 m service ceiling, and a 3,000 km ferry range. Its eight hardpoints support BVR missiles (Astra, Derby), precision munitions, and a 23 mm cannon. The latest Mk 1A variant maintains its modern edge by adding an indigenous Uttam AESA radar and an integrated electronic warfare suite.
